Logo - Celtic Dragonfly Transforms

Posted on May 21, 2020 at 7:55 AM Comments comments (1204)

I have had the idea for my logo for a while now,

but it did not come to me for some time,

as I rambled with different approaches to my art,

and maybe, not fully aware at the beginning,

of where my art was rooted, where I or it was taking me,

when your simply playing with paint and stumbling across techniques

or forming your own way of doing it!

Dragonflies have followed my journey with a while now,

enchanting my bodywork business,

Adaptability and transformation in its wings,

only fitting for the wee being to continue it's journey with me.

My celtic theme, even though it has been with me years,

through differing techniques or moods of dark to bright colours,

It feels like it's only at the beginning,

I'm having great enjoyment working on the Celtic Gathering series right now,

one that has brought a mix of colours and techniques together,

aswell as combining two of my favourite themes together,

that of the animal kingdom and the celtic ruins of Ireland.

Heres to continuing the journey,

I hope you enjoy the journey with me,

Thankyou, as always, for your support

2019 Summary

2019 Summary

At the end of every year I like to look back,
on the joyful moments,
how does the year make me feel,
what could I change, if anything,
where I am in life and where I'd like to take it...

So..... concentrating on my art,
I would 100% like to spend more time painting,
mixing mediums into powerful colour potions,
to spread onto a canvas and whirl into another world,
through visionary impulses, imagination, dreams
and the experiences from the world around me as they
push inwards looking for a response
whether that be to chose to react in the moment
or to push back and live.

I would like to delve deeper and really paint from the heart,
but given time to delve and not to rush, not to race to the finishing line,
but also to know and be able to feel clearly where that finishing line is.

I would like to be braver and step into advertising with my artwork,
to maybe venture into progress videos
and maybe share a little more of behind the scenes aswell as the highlights.
To share my words with my art, the part that isnt always seen.

It's a process like anything else,
we learn, we discover where we are in our learning and we grow.

Above are some of the art works of 2019
and below some of the drawings of paintings in the making.
Being without a studio for a period of time,
had my heart overcome by ideas that this year spilled out onto canvas,
meaning this year I grounded myself with my ideas
and now have 40 canvases backed up to paint.

One which has been with me to create for some time now,
which will combine two of my most loved topics,
Animals and the Celtic Ruins of Ireland,
both allowing me to delve deeper into compassion and to my history.

Here's to 2020 and the growth it will rain apon me....
i feel it will be my year of expanding.

Thankyou all for your support
I wouldnt be able to continue or be able to share all
with out you beautiful people,
who see in my art
something you agree with or appreciate.

Green Dragon Series

Green Dragon Story

(part I)

Strong Membranous Skin,

Long elongated bones stretch,

shimmering green,

In the moon lit sky

He sours, Unchallenged,

Roaming across the plaines,

searching near and far,

over the wooded valleys and meadows

past flowing rivers and glittering seas..

He pauses, with wonder,

the unstoppable rythm of motherearth,

The admiration for the Green man on Earth

of Life breathing underneath him.

Moments pass,

Our Green Dragon continues his search.......

Words to Art

Posted on December 14, 2019 at 8:15 AM Comments comments (0)

“A picture is a poem without words”, Horace.

When i read this quote first, i loved it. It felt right, true, but since I've looked at my art knowing the stories or words or meanings in my heart or head, it gives depth of emotion to the images we see. That feeling or knowledge now drives me sometimes to write words, poetry, or the canvases story which sometimes is a part of the artists story....

Father Sky

Father Sky

When I looked up and saw your shape,

Emerging from the marshmallow land.

The glee in my heart took flight to escape,

And My body reaches out to touch with hand.

As if you were here, physically real,

And not a trick or play of the mind.

Such hope is stirred,

And a seed is sown.

You are photographed,

So I am no clown.

The land beyond the here and now,

The mind unconscious roams afar,

Where the heart is supported at flow,

The spirit free to feed and roar,

And we dream a sweet dream...

To be fed in life,

A whole and balanced meal.

Fear cut with a knife,

Clearing a path so real,

Allowing an eagle flight to destiny.....

To Trust in our inner selves,

The hardest part to play.

To love unconditionally delves,

A connection to Gaea.

The truth leading us home.....

Ciara Curtin

This was a painting inspired by the unedited photo you see below, caught in west Cork.

I love seeing shapes within or faces in items,

sometimes wee messages travel with

to enlighten ones spirit,

and in All....Showing the connection to all.....

Looking forward to the next painting and the journey within.....

Thankyou for reading :)

The Stag

The Stag

A creature of strength and power,

a graceful being both day and night,

blossoming with time like a flower,

always ready to take flight.

An animal with a proud stance,

a symbol of love and kindness portrayed,

spreading peace with one glance,

so unconceivable to be betrayed.

In the past and the present,

through this world and another,

the recycling of life is transcend,

as autumn grows a new antler.

From beyond the fertile Cernunnos,

waving wisdom and nobility as a flag,

Motherearth allows and answers generous,

for within nature stands the Stag.

Ciara Curtin

My second writing of the year. Slowly regaining my vocabulary, a bizarre feeling to be trusting the mind through the pen with words again, a world I had not journeyed in some time., certainly out of practice, however I am enjoying my time with pen and paper, however hard it is at times to be within that moment, undisturbed, as we live in a world where time tables rush us forward, where our minds are lead to concentrate on things not of the present, some unworthy of the thought space, most are past tense or future, searching for that path, one which needs no seeking.

Thankyou for your patience as I reroot and grow my mind to the world of words.

Snoopy Pet Portrait

The Windows of the soul

such large brown circles hold,

within a black and white shell

and a heart of pure gold.

Laughter and happiness on four paws,

Loved unconditionally to his pink core.

A teacher of patience and life's laws

while time evades, stands a cure.

In my heart and hands he trusts,

as his health falters and descends

but one true thing still bursts,

Memories allowing loves ascend.

by Ciara Curtin.

New Years day I surrendered to the sketchbook and completed a Drawing of Snoopy, a pet that has left this physical plane but not my heart. As my first post I only saw it right to be of one being who has truly inspired and been a specalular teacher.

Forgive my first attempt back at writing, i am somewhat Rusty...

I hope you enjoy.
